About Helifix.xyz
Who we are — and who this site is for
Helifix.xyz is an independent, English-language publication dedicated to the engineering, economics, and policy of solar energy. We are not a consultancy, a manufacturer, or a lead-generation service. We are a content blog written by and for readers who already understand the fundamentals of photovoltaics and want to go deeper.
Our audience includes:
- Solar design engineers and system integrators evaluating new module technologies or balance-of-system innovations
- Energy analysts tracking LCOE trends, tariff structures, and grid integration challenges
- Commercial and industrial facility managers optimizing behind-the-meter solar + storage
- Policy researchers and regulatory specialists monitoring net metering, interconnection rules, and IRA / REPowerEU implications
- Experienced residential adopters planning complex self-consumption setups or off-grid hybrids
If you already know the difference between mono-PERC and heterojunction, or you are modelling degradation rates beyond the standard 0.5 %/year, you are in the right place.
Topics we cover
Every article on Helifix.xyz falls into one of these editorial pillars:
- Technology deep dives — cell architectures (TOPCon, back-contact, tandem), inverter topologies, module-level power electronics, bifacial gain analysis, and field performance data.
- Project economics & finance — IRR/NPV modelling, PPA structures, tax equity, REC markets, and sensitivity analysis for varying irradiation and degradation scenarios.
- Policy & market intelligence — FERC orders, state-level dockets, EU Solar Strategy, import tariff impacts, and interconnection queue trends.
- Design & O&M best practices — string sizing, clipping ratio optimisation, soiling mitigation, IV curve interpretation, and reliability analytics.
- Grid integration & storage pairing — DC/AC coupling, energy arbitrage, frequency regulation, and microgrid controls.
We do not publish beginner "what is solar" explainers. Every piece assumes baseline technical literacy and delivers actionable, evidence-based insight.
Editorial standards & fact verification
Our editorial process is built on three commitments:
- Verify everything. Every claim about efficiency, cost, or policy is sourced from peer-reviewed journals, manufacturer datasheets, NREL/DOE publications, or primary regulatory documents. We link to original sources.
- Update when practices change. Solar technology and policy evolve rapidly. Articles carry a "last updated" date; when a module is discontinued, a tariff changes, or a new standard (e.g., NEC 2026) is adopted, we revise or retire the relevant content.
- No sponsored fluff. We do not accept payment for coverage, guest posts with backlinks, or product placement. Sponsored content is clearly labelled and never appears in the main editorial feed. Our only revenue is from non-intrusive display ads (AdSense) — we keep the site clean and reader-first.
We are a small editorial team (not a faceless content mill). Every author and editor is listed on each article byline. We do not use AI-generated text without human review and substantial original analysis.
Why "Helifix"?
The name combines helios (Greek for sun) and fix (to attach, to make stable). It reflects our belief that solar energy is not a passing trend but a fixed, foundational part of the global energy system — and that getting the details right requires rigorous, anchored information.
